Basic Function Teagasc has an international reputation for researching and developing pasture-based systems of livestock production. Teagasc Moorepark is the site of the dairy research programme. It investigates aspects of dairy production research such as nutrition and milk composition, grassland and grazing management, breeding and reproduction, health and welfare, milking technology, milk production systems, environmental and economic analysis. Teagasc Moorepark are seeking to appoint a highly qualified and enthusiastic animal nutrition laboratory technician to support a Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) funded project entitled PASTURE-NUE. The objective of PASTURE-NUE is to increase the efficiency of nitrogen use in pasture-based systems, thereby reducing ammonia, nitrous oxide and nitrate emissions. The successful candidate will manage the expanding Teagasc animal nutrition laboratory to ensure delivery of the objectives of PASTURE-NUE.
