UCC wishes to appoint a highly qualified and experienced academic to the role of Professor and Head of Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. The Chair will report to the Head of School of Clinical Therapies and will be expected to lead the Department in research, curriculum development and staff development, and make a major contribution to the supervision of post-graduate and post-doctoral research.
Applicants must have a strong research profile, with an international reputation in Occupational Science or Occupational Therapy, and a proven track record in teaching and curriculum development. The Chair will be expected to relate effectively to other professional stakeholders nationally and internationally. The successful candidate will also have the skills to effectively convey the Department’s vision and distinctive character and expertise to a range of audiences including students, the Occupational Therapy profession, the Health Services, and the wider community. The Chair will also have the administrative and mentoring ability to manage an active and developing Department.

Appointment may be made on the Professor Salary Scale: € 129,708 - €157,612 (Scale B) / €123,223 - €158,354 (Scale A)
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
