Forestry Liaison Officer (ADO Grade 1) (Temporary) (Ref: 299)
To continue a process of high quality engagement and delivery of forestry education and awareness-raising within the Agricultural Education Awards System and to a range of other relevant sectors.
To promote the forestry option to a broad range of stakeholders where appropriate and to operate as part of a team in forestry outreach and awareness-raising activities.
Delivering and adding value through collaborating with other groups and stakeholders in promoting the benefits of forestry.
Teagasc promotes forestry as a highly complementary and viable farm enterprise in appropriate circumstances.
The appointee will provide objective and independent outreach and awareness-raising of forestry opportunities through teaching/liaising/supporting within the Agricultural Education Awards System and other appropriate courses, events and initiatives.
This will be provided in line with the Forestry Development Department Business Plan and in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM).
The appointed person will liaise closely with and be supported by Teagasc departmental and local staff in the delivery of this programme.
Applicants must hold a relevant Level 8 Degree in Forestry or other related land-based discipline.
A post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable.
