The Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation, MRC University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR) is seeking to recruit an experienced software engineer who will make a leading contribution to virus resource development at the CVR.
You will be principally involved in the support of virus bioinformatics projects in the CVR, and the development of our online viral genome resources, for example, http://cov-glue.cvr.gla.ac.uk/ and http://hcv-glue.cvr.gla.ac.uk/.
You will have a lead role in the support, maintenance and development of the underlying software framework and implementation of specific GLUE resources in line with CVR research priorities and in collaboration with other bioinformaticians and researchers at the CVR.
Candidates with a background in bioinformatics, computational, computer science, and/or software engineering are encouraged to apply.
While experience of comparative genomics research, applied to virology in particular, will be an advantage it is not essential.
This position is funded until 31 March 2023 on a full time basis.

Salary will be on the University’s Technical and Specialist Grade, level 6/7 depending on experience, £29,176 - £32,817/£35,845 - £40,322 per annum.
