Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation MRC University of Glasgow Centre for Virus ResearchCRUSH Facility Manager The Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation, MRC University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR) is seeking an experienced Manager with scientific experience to manage a new facility designed to support antiviral drug discovery for high consequence viruses, including SARS-CoV-2. "CRUSH” (COVID-19 Drug-Screening and Resistance Hub) represents a fully integrated hub for SARS-CoV-2 drug screening and resistance assays, including in pre-clinical animal models. The Facility Manager will support the CRUSH Academic Lead by overseeing the day-to-day management and activities of the facility. This will include, for example, interaction with CRUSH users to design milestone driven projects and processes, devising and applying standard operating procedures, implementing an appropriate information management system and supervising technical staff. The CVR is a unique international research centre with a critical mass of researchers entirely dedicated to the study of viral diseases (www.cvr.ac.uk; www.facebook.com/centreforvirusresearch; https://twitter.com/cvrinfo). The CVR’s collegiate and collaborative environment fosters a broad research portfolio. Research at the CVR spans molecular, structural and cellular levels through to the individual host and affected population, integrating molecular and structural virology, cell biology, pathogenesis, epidemiology and mathematical modelling, virus genomics and bioinformatics. The Laboratory is placed in the Sir Michael Stoker Building in a beautiful park in the Garscube Estate in Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city and the fourth largest in the UK (https://www.lonelyplanet.com/scotland/glasgow).
