CRUSH Facility Manager

The Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation, MRC University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR) is seeking an experienced Manager with scientific experience to manage a new facility designed to support antiviral drug discovery for high consequence viruses, including SARS-CoV-2.

"CRUSH” (COVID-19 Drug-Screening and Resistance Hub) represents a fully integrated hub for SARS-CoV-2 drug screening and resistance assays, including in pre-clinical animal models.

The Facility Manager will support the CRUSH Academic Lead by overseeing the day-to-day management and activities of the facility.

This will include, for example, interaction with CRUSH users to design milestone driven projects and processes, devising and applying standard operating procedures, implementing an appropriate information management system and supervising technical staff.

The CVR’s collegiate and collaborative environment fosters a broad research portfolio.

Research at the CVR spans molecular, structural and cellular levels through to the individual host and affected population, integrating molecular and structural virology, cell biology, pathogenesis, epidemiology and mathematical modelling, virus genomics and bioinformatics.

The position is funded on a full-time basis until 31 March 2023 but there may be scope to extend this further.

The appointment will be made at Grade 8 (£44,045 - £51,034 per annum).
