Position: President

The Royal for Women Board of Trustees invites applications for the position of President. Established in 2004, the Royal University for Women is the only University in the Kingdom of Bahrain dedicated to the education of women. The President reports directly to the Board of Trustees.

The President of the Royal University for Women must possess the educational background, professional experience, and ideal characteristics necessary to lead the entire operation of the University. The University is seeking a dedicated and motivational leader who is skilled at building and maintaining strong internal/external relationships while inspiring faculty, staff, and students to build a stronger future for the University.

Essential Criteria
  1. Candidates must possess an earned PhD from an accredited institution and appropriate academic and administrative experience.
  2. Strive to uphold the Universityís mission, vision, core values, and approved policies while providing direction along with responsible decision making.
  3. Build collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, higher education institutions, businesses, partners, and community members while demonstrating high levels of character, integrity, and responsiveness.
  4. Promote and support diversity and inclusion through equity and respect.
  5. Promote student success in preparation for transfer or career opportunities.
  6. Possess demonstrated experience in academic affairs, student life and remain actively involved in the life of the institution.
  7. Be an effective communicator and presenter to the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, student body, business leaders, community members, and the media.
  8. Possess leadership skills that can facilitate change through diversity and inclusion, strategic planning, master planning, sustainable financial planning, and innovative technology.
  9. Demonstrate a commitment to enrollment, program growth, the development of new innovative programs, procurement of funding sources, and grant opportunities.
  10. Possess demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial management, fundraising, capital projects, economic development, and community service.
  11. Demonstrate experience with the accreditation process and working with government institutions.
  12. Understand the history of higher education, along with developing trends.
  13. Oral and written English proficiency required. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
Desired Criteria
  1. Experience in Middle Eastern academia.
  2. Experience in working in fields related to education and leadership of female students.
  3. Ability to work in a diverse culture.
  4. Ability to expand the existing international network of the University.

Position: Academic Dean, College of Business and Financial Studies

The Royal University for Women invites applications for the position of Dean for the College of Business and Financial Studies. As one of three academic deans, the Dean provides academic and administrative leadership for the College. Applicants for the position must hold an earned doctorate from an accredited institution of higher education in a business-related field, and demonstrate an outstanding record as an educator and scholar. Applicants must have demonstrated significant administrative experience in a college or university at the level of academic department head or above or its equivalent for a minimum of five years. The candidate must have experience with accreditation at the College and University levels.

The University is seeking a dynamic visionary leader who promotes excellence, diversity and inclusion, pedagogical innovation, undergraduate and graduate research, internationalization, career and internship development, and entrepreneurial spirit. The Dean will serve under the University organizational structure of the President and Vice President Academic, and be responsible for the College of Business and Financial Sciences. The College offers four Bachelor of Business degrees in Banking & Finance, International Business, Human Resource Management and Marketing.

Essential Criteria
  1. PhD in Banking & Finance / Marketing / Human Resources/ International Business or itís equivalent
  2. Four years of teaching experience in a university setting
  3. Excellent ability to engage with multiple constituencies, including students, Faculty members, staff, and alumni, as well as leaders in the business, political, social, and governmental sectors locally, nationally, and internationally
  4. Knowledgeable of relevant professional and academic bodies in Business areas
  5. Experience in academic administration to evidence familiarity with academic programmes, policies and regulations necessary to smoothly govern the activities of college in the university Evidence of collaborative program development
  6. With experience in the effective management of the human resource, financial and administration functions of a department / unit / center in a tertiary environment
  7. With experience in developing and implementing effective policies and procedures.
  8. Having a proven record as a leader, Instructor and public servant in variety of settings is critical
Desired Criteria
  1. Demonstrated understanding of accreditation (including AACSB) and qualification framework.
  2. Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  3. Demonstrated ability to work with and provide leadership for a broad range of stakeholders both on and off campus
  4. Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain relationships within a multi-cultural environment.
  5. Ability to multitask and prioritize
  6. Strategic planning and Interdisciplinary scholarly skills
General Role / Responsibility
  • Responsible for the management of the academic administrative, financial affairs, development as well as the scientific research.
  • Contributes to the planning and implementation of the decisions of the College Council, Deansí Council and the University Senate.
  • Maintains documentation of the College on a regular basis.

  2. Hold the minimum of an Associate Academic rank
  3. At least 2 years of experience in the same capacity or 3 - 5 years of experience as Head of Department of Art and Design.
  4. Knowledgeable of relevant professional and academic bodies in Business areas
  5. Excellent ability to engage with multiple constituencies, including students, Faculty members, staff, and alumni, as well as leaders in the business, political, social, and governmental sectors locally, nationally, and internationally
  6. With academic experience, excellent in teaching or research, and governance
