The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Physics of the Technische Universität Braunschweig invites application funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States (”WISNA”) to start as soon as possible.
The junior professorship will be established at the Institute of Geophysics and Extraterrestrial Physics.
The successful candidate shall teach geophysics at all undergraduate levels.
The professor shall develop and apply methods for the non-destructive evaluation of the subsurface in urban environments.
A specialisation in wave-based methods (seismics or ground-penetrating radar) is desired.
The appointed professor has a proven history of relevant research, successful acquisition of third-party funds, and an excellent publication record.
We expect that the appointee will actively engage in the core research area “future city” at TU Braunschweig, and use the cooperation network to participate in collaborative research projects.
We assume that the candidate is ready to offer lectures in English language.
Applicants to this position must hold a doctoral degree.
The applicant shall have excellent research competency from university or industry, shown e.g. by excellent publications, successful applications for research grants and experience in international co-operations.
International experience in lecturing as well as ability and willingness to teach in English language is explicitly appreciated.
The junior professor´s initial appointment is limited to three years.
After a positive evaluation, the appointment will be extended by three more years.
The Ph.D. examination should be passed within the last four years.
