Lecturer in Planetary GeoScience

The salary will be on the Research and Teaching Grade, level 7, 8: 35,210- 39,610 / 43,266 - 50,132 per annum.

Applications for the post are welcome in any research areas in planetary geoscience, which may include robotic exploration or remote sensing that complement the existing strengths within the School.

The post-holder will develop, lead and sustain research of international standard in planetary geoscience contribute to teaching, assessment, project supervision and curriculum design at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and participate in School management and organisation.

The School of Geographical and Earth Sciences (GES) has an outstanding reputation in Earth and planetary science, and is expanding its research and teaching in the area of planetary geoscience.

To complement our existing strengths in meteoritics, we are seeking applicants with a strong track record in studying the geology and/or geomorphology of planetary bodies using data from rovers, satellites, and/or returned samples, and who have experience in working within multidisciplinary and international research teams.

This is a full-time open-ended post.

The successful applicant of this post will be enrolled onto the University's Early Career Development Programme (ECDP).
