Jon Title: Teagasc Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Level 2 -Animal Health and Welfare (Ref: PD2/PL/0719)
Basic Function of the post:
The successful candidate will be working hand to hand with the direct manager and in coordination with the rest of the team sharing some organization tasks and will be also expected to support PhD students.
Duties & Responsibilities specific to this project:
Analyse pre-collected biosecurity data for pig and poultry enterprises.
Model the economic aspects of biosecurity in pigs and poultry.
Produce peer-reviewed articles and reports from the data analysis.
Maintain the links this project has with existing research projects and participate in the organization of common activities.
PhD in animal health and welfare, animal science or livestock economics or related discipline.
A minimum of 3 years and not more than 5 years relevant research experience.
Experience in dealing with stakeholders in the Irish pig and/or poultry sector.
Experience in setting own research agenda.
