Basic Function of the post:
To develop/establish and validate analytical methods for the analysis of nitrogen inhibitor residues in food and environmental samples.
To develop and manage sampling plans in collaboration with project partners.
To manage the traceability of samples in the laboratory.
To analyse study samples, prepare analytical reports and interpretation of data.
To write reports, SOPs and peer reviewed publications.
To disseminate research to collaborators and at conferences/workshops to promote project research
Duties & Responsibilities specific to this project:
Keeping up to date with current literature and scientific developments in the area of residue analysis including analytical methodologies.
Development of accurate and precise methods for the target analytes in study samples.
Validation of analytical methods according to best international practice.
Organisation and management of the traceability of project samples and their results.
Preparation of analytical reports and interpretation of results.
Assembly of relevant Irish datasets and conducting a preliminary analysis.
Liaison with national experts.
Writing technical reports, project progress reports and peer reviewed publications.
Effective communication of research to collaborators and stakeholders.
Contribute to upkeep and governance of the analytical laboratories.
PhD in a Chemistry related discipline e.g. analytical chemistry, food chemistry or environmental chemistry.
Relevant research experience not to exceed 3 years post-PhD.
Expertise in different LC-MS/MS software e.g. ABSCIEX, Agilent and Water.
Experience in working in an ISO17025 or pharmaceutical working environment would be an advantage.
