Strathclyde Chancellor's Fellow in Society & Policy.
Strathclyde Global Talent Programme
Be bold. Be innovative. Be a 'Strathclyder'
We are the University of Strathclyde. Our vision is bold and ground breaking, placing us amongst the world's leading international technological universities. We are vibrant, dynamic and passionate about solving the challenges facing society and industry through our cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary research, education and knowledge-exchange with global partners.
Through our Strathclyde Global Talent Programme we will recruit up to 75 outstanding academics - including Strathclyde Chancellor's Fellows - in areas of strategic importance.
One area of importance is Society & Policy.
As Scotland's only higher education institution founded during the Scottish Enlightenment, Strathclyde has a long track record of informing society and public policy. The society & policy theme benefits from the Strathclyde's areas of expertise and research centres, and our case studies show the impact of our work.
At the core of this work, the University's internationally renowned public policy centres are working closely with government, and the public and private sectors, to improve our understanding of complex societal challenges, support decision making and drive business and economic growth.
If your society & policy research focuses on any of the following areas, we'd love to hear from you:
Normally appointed at Lecturer level (exceptionally at Senior Lecturer), the Fellowship will last for 5 years during which you will be supported to establish your career as a research leader and achieve rapid career progression. Fellows who meet the criteria for promotion by the end of the 5 year period will be transferred to an open-ended (tenured equivalent) academic appointment. You will also benefit from research portfolio growth, reduced teaching load and administrative duties and a range of support.
- Children & young people
- Digital policy & practice
- Health policy
- Professional education & practice
- Language culture & identities
- Work, employment and economy
We would love to hear from you if you have a PhD and postdoctoral research experience; an emerging publication history in high quality academic journals; and research interests which align with this area of strategic priority - particularly if you already hold an external fellowship that can be transferred to us.
