Strathclyde Chancellor's Fellow in Health & Wellbeing.

Strathclyde Global Talent Programme

Be bold. Be innovative. Be a 'Strathclyder'

We are the University of Strathclyde. Our vision is bold and ground breaking, placing us amongst the world's leading international technological universities. We are vibrant, dynamic and passionate about solving the challenges facing society and industry through our cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary research, education and knowledge-exchange with global partners.

Through our Strathclyde Global Talent Programme we will recruit up to 75 outstanding academics - including Strathclyde Chancellor's Fellows - areas of strategic importance. One area of importance is Health & Wellbeing.

Health is not simply an absence of illness, but a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing. Good health and wellbeing requires a multidisciplinary consideration of whole systems, from the biological cell to individual and societal health and wellbeing, examining social, physical and mental health. These are all areas in which we excel at Strathclyde.

If your health & wellbeing research focuses on any of the following areas, we'd love to hear from you:
  • Better medicines
  • Biomedical imaging & biophysics
  • Digital health & health analytics
  • Health interventions & population health
  • Living well, ageing well
  • Medical devices & technologies
  • Rehabilitation
  • Sensor & analysis technologies
Normally appointed at Lecturer level (exceptionally at Senior Lecturer), the Fellowship will last for 5 years during which you will be supported to establish your career as a research leader and achieve rapid career progression. Fellows who meet the criteria for promotion by the end of the 5 year period will be transferred to an open-ended (tenured equivalent) academic appointment. You will also benefit from research portfolio growth, reduced teaching load and administrative duties and a range of support.

We would love to hear from you if you have a PhD and postdoctoral research experience; an emerging publication history in high quality academic journals; and research interests which align with this area of strategic priority - particularly if you already hold an external fellowship that can be transferred to us.

For further details and to apply to be a 'Strathclyder' in Health & Wellbeing impress us with your bold and innovative research plan at:

Closing Date: Sunday 4th November 2018.
