Grade I - 32,548 - 36,613 per annum / Grade J - 36,613 per annum

We have an exciting researcher position available at the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit (MRC-IEU) at the University of Bristol for a computational biologist. This post would be suitable for either a statistical geneticist, looking to develop their computational skills, or a computational scientist, looking to apply their skills in a biomedical setting.

The successful applicant will work on the follow-up of genome-wide association studies (GWAS) of atopic dermatitis (AD, eczema) and other atopic disease to identify novel potential drug targets. They will integrate genome-wide association summary statistics with other large-scale omic resources and use a range of statistical analyses and bioinformatic approaches in order to finemap loci and gain important biological insight relevant for AD drug development.

This post will include the opportunity to work with academic, industry and clinical collaborators to incorporate the latest method developments and to ensure efficient impact of the research.

The MRC-IEU actively supports development of wider transferable skills, has a range of opportunities to link with external collaborators and encourages and supports talented staff in applying for personal fellowships.

The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.

The closing date for applications is 23:59 on Thursday 7th June 2018.
