Teagasc Post Doctoral Research Fellow Level 2 (PD2) - Irish Land Uses Project - (Ref: PD2/ILUP/AY/0518)
The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to integrate (and potentially redesign) a range of pre-existing models to develop a modelling tool to project future greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and carbon sequestration associated with changes in the level of agricultural activity and forestry activity under a range of scenarios.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
„h Analyse and interpret quantitative data using econometric techniques.
„h Interpret and publish results in prominent international scientific journals as well as technical and popular press, and present results at conferences and to stakeholders.
„h Contribute to and further develop the economic research programme in Teagasc.
„h Interact with stakeholders from agriculture, food industry, Government & other state agencies.
„h Develop and maintain active collaborative contacts with other national and international research organisations and with other Programmes in Teagasc.
ƒæ PhD in the area of Economics or Environmental Science or other relevant discipline.
ƒæ A minimum of 3 years and not more than 5 years¡¦ relevant research experience.
ƒæ Demonstrated research and technical expertise in agricultural and or environmental policy modelling.
ƒæ Track record of researcher dissemination including peer-reviewed publications.
ƒæ Excellent project management, analytical, report writing and data analysis skills.
„h Experience of working with the data from the Teagasc National Farm Survey.
„h An understanding of the structures of the IPCC Greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory methodology.
„h An understanding of production level GHG Live Cycle Analysis.
„h Knowledge of the agricultural
