W3 Professorship for Nutrigenomics

Reference is made to § 61 section 7 Hessisches Hochschulgesetz (HHG) and to conditions of employment based on § 62 HHG. Proficient knowledge of German is expected. The successful candidate will represent the faculty in teaching and research as follows:
Teaching has to be carried out in the B.Sc. and M.Sc. Programs of the faculty. Main focus in academic teaching should be given to the biological basis of nutrient-gene interaction and relevant analytical techniques. It is expected that the lectures will be also offered in English. Participation in the further development of study programs is requested.
The holder of the professorship is expected to focus the scientific research on the human genome and the role of the genetic variance in the response towards nutritive factors as a base for the development of genotype based personalized nutrition concepts. The applicant should be able to document publications with a focus on Nutrigenomics in international peer-reviewed and high-ranked journals. Experience in raising third-party funds and in carrying out research projects is a prerequisite.
